French technical/progressive death metal project Architect of Seth, led by Pyromancer, has ended a 13‑year hiatus: the full album Solitude Solaire is streaming now. The project dates back to 2006; after the 2013 full‑length The Persistence of Scars Pyromancer remained the only consistent member.
Sonically the record remains rooted in technical and progressive death metal, with Decibel noting influences such as Death, Pestilence and Nocturnus while highlighting more layered arrangements. The coverage singles out specific tracks: centerpiece "Nature Morte" for its keyboards, Roselys’ sung lines and extended guitar solos; "Paradis Sans Vie" which features lead guitarist Clément Bourmaud and additional vocalist Ruptur; "Karma Trance" for concise songwriting; and closer "Mes Mains qui se Perdent" for its emotive, melodic finish.
Decibel and the release information state Solitude Solaire is officially due on November 6 via I, Voidhanger and is available through the label’s streaming channels. Pyromancer described creating the album as "a profound inner journey," saying the record formed in the tension "between collapse and the will to live." Fans of layered, technical death metal can stream the album now ahead of the formal release.
