According to Blabbermouth.
SKID ROW have announced Broadway alum Justin Sargent as their new lead singer. The band frames the appointment as the result of an extended global search after more than two years away from the stage and ties the change to the group’s 40th‑anniversary activities; the announcement says the band found their new voice "in their home state of New Jersey." The statement lists Sargent’s Broadway credits, including Peter Parker in Spiderman: Turn Off The Dark and roles in Rock Of Ages and Bonnie & Clyde, and notes he was born in Murphysboro, Illinois and raised in Florida.
To introduce the new lineup, SKID ROW released a recording of The Who’s "Won't Get Fooled Again," produced by Nick Raskulinecz, and filmed a new music video directed by Dale "Rage" Resteghini. The recording will also be issued as a strictly limited, hand‑signed seven‑inch single – 500 copies – with pre‑orders opening the day of the announcement.
The band published an initial set of concert dates featuring Sargent. The announcement names venues and dates including: March 5 – The Show at Agua Caliente (Rancho Mirage, CA); March 20 – Four Winds Casino (New Buffalo, MI); April 2 – VooDoo Lounge at Harrah's (Kansas City, MO); April 9 – Foxwoods (Mashantucket, CT); April 10 – Borgata (Atlantic City, NJ); May 9 – Welcome to Rockville (Daytona Beach, FL); and May 14 – Sonic Temple (Columbus, OH). The band says more dates will follow.
The statement lists the current band members – Rachel Bolan, Dave "Snake" Sabo, Scotti Hill and Rob Hammersmith – and thanks the many singers who auditioned. It also notes that SKID ROW partnered with music retailer Sweetwater to broaden the search. The announcement refers to former singer Erik Grönwall, stating he was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in March 2021 and that he announced his departure from the band in March 2024.
