Nightwish and Floor Jansen announce their separation

Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish and Dutch vocalist Floor Jansen have announced that they are parting ways by mutual agreement. Both parties shared statements on their official Instagram accounts on October 15, describing the decision as carefully considered and wishing one another well on their separate artistic journeys.

Jansen began performing with Nightwish in 2012 and became a permanent member in 2013. Her departure marks the end of a significant chapter in the band’s history. The musicians thanked one another and reflected on the importance of the years they spent together.

Nightwish have not announced a breakup. The group says it will continue and plans to enter the studio to record a new album in 2027. The identity of any future vocalist has not been disclosed, and no release date for the record has been announced.

In her own message, Jansen thanked listeners for their support and said that her solo career will now receive her full attention. Her album “Hytress” is scheduled for January 15, 2027, with touring plans also announced. Neither side has provided further details about the reasons for their decision.
