Chaosmonger Studio has released a demo trailer for Voivod: The Nuclear Warrior, a run-and-gun Metroidvania developed with VOIVOD. A free demo will appear during Steam Next Fest and the full game is due in early 2027 on PC and consoles.

According to Blabbermouth.

Independent developer Chaosmonger Studio has unveiled a new demo trailer for Voivod: The Nuclear Warrior, a narrative-driven run-and-gun Metroidvania built around VOIVOD’s music, artwork and dystopian sci-fi world. The game pairs frantic combat and Metroidvania exploration with handcrafted pixel visuals; players control a constantly mutating warrior guided by the mysterious Nothingface as they recover fragments of lost memory.

A free playable demo will be available during Steam Next Fest from October 19 to 26, presented in two distinct modes. Story Path offers roughly the first hour of the adventure with an emphasis on narrative, exploration and progression, while Combat Trial delivers an immediate action experience with more weapons, abilities and a challenging boss encounter.

The title is scheduled for a multi-platform release in early 2027 on PC (Windows, macOS, Linux, Steam Deck) and consoles (Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Xbox). Chaosmonger Studio is based in Tallinn and was founded by filmmaker and game developer Nicola Piovesan; the studio’s credits include ENCODYA and Clunky Hero. The announcement also comes amid recent VOIVOD activity, including the Symphonique live album released 5 June 2026 and the 2024 documentary We Are Connected.
